这首歌在流行乐界的地位令人高山仰止。到目前为止，已有至少144个翻唱版本，还被翻译成各国语言，比如德国等。翻唱版本中，Lighthouse Family版本较为出名，而最为出名的演唱者Michael Jackson。还有数不清的电影电视采用这首歌作为原声带，如《诺丁山》、《Old School》、《Crooklyn》（种族情深）、《Munich》（慕尼黑，斯皮尔伯格执导）、《America Me》等。
